Finance Subcommittee Minutes

Agenda Topics:

  • Discuss different ways MCC advertises.
  • Discuss incentive items for enrollment ideas and their financial impact.
  • Discuss financial impact of expanding institutional scholarships.
  • Other updates.

Action Items and Timelines:

  • Meeting starts at 1:30PM
  • Lisa explains the different ways that the marketing department spends it’s advertising money.
    • Funding has been the same for several years.
    • Will research other colleges to see how much funding they give to marketing and advertising.
  • Discussed the different ideas that people had for incentive items.
    • Decided that giving computers as prizes in a drawing would be the best incentive item based on the costs.
    • We will leave it to other committees to decide how to implement the incentives based on a point system.
  • Talked about the idea of expanding the McLennan Scholarship to include more than just the top 10%
    • Decided to look into providing a percentage scholarship to students in the top 11-20%
      • To be discussed further in the next meeting
